No es su falsedad

Me encantó esta frase de Philip Pullman, y creo que resume algunas de mis ideas con respecto a la religión.

My basic objection to religion is not that it isn't true; I like plenty of things that aren't true. It's that religion grants its adherents malign, intoxicating and morally corrosive sensations. Destroying intellectual freedom is always evil, but only religion makes doing evil feel quite so good.

"destroying intellectual freedom is always evil" sounds quite like a manicheist religious dogma... :-)

And what is intellectual freedom? Maybe freedom from truth? But truelly "intellectual" means not freedom, but slavery to truth.

Have you read "Mathematics of evolution" by Fred Hoyle? Why is it so difficult to obtain? Somebody is restricting your/our intellectual freedom...
